Our Story

Sometimes the biggest opportunities come from places you least expect.
In 2011, Megan Olsem came across a Pawnee agricultural aircraft for sale on Barnstormers. At the time, she and her husband, Ben, had no plans to enter the world of agricultural aviation, but something about the opportunity caught their attention. What started as a simple conversation soon became an idea worth exploring.
After some research and flights with mentors, Ben pursued the training and experience needed to become an aerial applicator. What began with a single aircraft gradually grew into Olsem Aerial Application Services.
Over the years, the business continued to grow, driven by a commitment to dependable service and helping farmers in Southern Minnesota. In 2025, Ben and Megan expanded their passion for agricultural aviation with the acquisition of Hoppe Airspray, a well-established aerial application company based in Beaman, Iowa.
Today, Olsem Aerial proudly serves farmers throughout southwest Minnesota and the surrounding region, providing timely, reliable aerial application services while staying true to the values the business was built on: hard work, honesty, and treating customers like neighbors.
Ben and Megan understand the trust growers place in their applicators. Every field, every flight, and every customer relationship matters.
